| Conditional conveyance |
Conveyance in which the transfer of real property is conditional upon payment of the purchase price, parcelling out, etc. A conveyance which is conditional upon the payment of the purchase price can be registered in the proprietorship register. Other conditional conveyances are registered as burdens. The transfer will only be final if the conditions are met.

Credit purchase where the seller can take back the sold goods if the buyer does not pay the purchase price as agreed, cf. section 6 of the Danish Credit Agreements Act.

The court can hold conference calls instead of preliminary hearings in connection with the preparation of civil cases.

| Confirmatory action |
Civil action to review certain provisional measures taken by the enforcement court – attachment and prohibitory injunction.

| Confiscation |
When something is confiscated for the benefit of the Treasury. Is used, for example, in relation to the proceeds of crime, cf. section 75 of the Danish Criminal Code.

Claims arising from the same legal relationship. There is extended access to set-off in connection with such claims.

| Consumer agreement |
A contract of sale between a merchant (acting in the course of business) and a consumer, cf. section 4a of the Danish Sale of Goods Act.

| Contact |
Right to contact between parent and child/children. The enforcement court can enforce a right to contact determined by the county governor’s office.
|
| Contact person |
Person to be appointed by the beneficiaries of an estate under administration out of court for the purpose of receiving notices on behalf of all the beneficiaries, cf. section 25(6) of the Danish Administration of the Estates of Deceased Persons Act.

Against good morals.

| Contract note |
A written agreement in a completed transaction. A contract note can be registered if it meets the conditions for a conveyance.

| Contract of sale involving carriage of goods |
Sale where the seller is to arrange for goods to be dispatched to the place where the buyer will take over the goods.

| Contributory negligence |
Damages can be reduced or lapse if the injured person has exhibited contributory negligence.
|
| Cooperative housing society |
A society that owns and runs a property of flats in which the members of the society live. Section 100 of the Danish Rent Act contains provisions to the effect that, in the event of sale of the property, lessees are to be offered to buy the property as a cooperative housing society.

Office copy of the land register. A fee of DKK 175 is payable per copy.

| Cost |
The purchase price of an asset. Cost is important for tax purposes, e.g. for real property on a subsequent sale if the transferee sells the property without having resided in it. If the asset is inherited, cost is the value of appropriation from the estate of the deceased person, or the amount at which the asset is included in the estate inventory.

The parties’ costs of legal proceedings such as court fees and attorney’s fees.

| Counter security |
Guarantee for the guarantor’s recovery claims.
|
| Court fee |
A fee to the Danish government for hearing a case before the court. A court fee is also paid for other services, for example transcripts from the court.

The judicial district, in which a person resides and in which the person concerned can normally be sued, is called his/her court of domicile (home court).

A court with several judges participating in the proceedings.

Alternative term for easement.

| Credit agreement |
Any agreement concerning credit, for example extension of payments, loans, etc., cf. section 4 of the Danish Credit Agreement Act.

| Credit consignment |
The seller’s delivery of goods on credit subject to ownership reservation to enable the buyer to resell the goods in his own name and for his own account.

| Credit costs |
All costs in connection with a credit agreement, including formation costs, interest, commission and any other costs, cf. section 13 of the Danish Credit Agreement Act.

| Credit purchase |
Purchase of movable property where the seller or a third party (originally a tripartite relationship) grants credit, cf. section 5 of the Danish Credit Agreement Act.

| Creditors’ delay |
When a debtor cannot meet its obligation on account of the creditor’s circumstances. In some cases, the debtor can obtain a discharge by depositing the amount due.

| Crop mortgage |
A farmer may provide security for payment of the costs of seed grain and fertilisers, etc. A crop mortgage must be registered in the register of chattel mortgages.

| Culpa |
Fault – cause of, for example, liability in damages.
|
| Custodial sentence |
Imprisonment before the trial, cf. section 762 et seq. of the Danish Administration of Justice Act.

Practice, for example the practice of an industry.
