In estates where the predeceased spouse died before 1 April 1964 and where undivided possession of the estate is retained, the inheritance is considered to have devolved on the death of the predeceased spouse. If one of the issue of the predeceased spouse dies before the surviving spouse, the inheritance left by the predeceased spouse will belong to the estate of the child mentioned. This estate must therefore be resumed on the death of the surviving spouse.

| Closing argument |
After the production of evidence, a legal action is closed by the closing arguments during which the parties can examine the case and each explain why the case should have the outcome they have claimed.

A supplement or appendix to e.g. a will.

| Cohabitant’s will, extended |
According to part 13 of the Danish Inheritance Act, unmarried cohabitants can make an extended cohabitant’s will. In the will, they can determine that they wish to inherit and be inherited wholly or partly as if they were spouses. However, the rules on administration, including retaining undivided possession of the estate, will not apply on the predeceased’s death irrespective of the making of a cohabitant’s will.
